Rita Repulsa Gets Nasty In New Power Rangers Image
It looks as though the ‘Power Rangers’ have their work cut out…
A new ‘Power Rangers’ image featuring Rita Repulsa has appeared online thanks to Entertainment Weekly… and the new take on this classic villain looks even nastier than ever before. But has Rita got the upper hand, or will she live to regret taking on a Power Ranger?
I get the feeling Trini won’t be going easy on her…

“When the Power Rangers’ villainess arrives to conquer Earth in the upcoming big-screen reboot of the franchise, five teens with attitude will stand in her way,” they explain. “In an attempt to take them down one by one, she ambushes Yellow Ranger Trini (singer Becky G) in her bedroom, but Trini puts up a fight — a fight that eventually has her pinned against the wall.”
And let’s face it – Rita is looking more badass than ever before.
But why has she gone after Trini?
“Rita tries to make Trini feel like she’s the weakest link of the Power Rangers,” said actress Becky G. “And she feels it’s easiest to go for her. Rita’s the type to play a lot of mind games, and Trini’s [thinking], ‘Can I really overpower Rita Repulsa or can I not?’“
Becky G plays Trini – also known as the Yellow Ranger.
But while Rita Repulsa is seemingly going after each of the rangers individually, we don’t really know what her endgame is. After all, she may lead an alien threat against the Earth, but why is she tracking the Power Rangers down individually? Could it be a case of divide and conquer, or is she unwittingly instrumental in bringing them together?
Thankfully, we don’t have to wait long to find out more…
“We’re done with the majority of filming now,” she explained. “We have some reshoots coming up which I’m excited for, because I’ll get to see everybody again. We have Comic-Con before that, which is even more exciting because it’ll be my first time ever.”
‘Power Rangers’ stars Dacre Montgomery as the Red Ranger, Becky G as the Yellow Ranger, RJ Cyler as the Blue Ranger, Naomi Scott as the Pink Ranger and Ludi Lin as the Black Ranger. Elizabeth banks stars as Rita Repulsa with Bryan Cranston as Zordon.
‘Power Rangers’ heads to cinemas on 24 March 2017.
