Reeves Vs Reeves: 'Matrix 4' and 'John Wick 4' to be released on the same day
Warner Bros has set a release date for the new Matrix movie.
It will land at cinemas worldwide on May 21, 2021, but there's already a twist.
It appears that the long-awaited sequel from director Lana Wachowski will be going up against John Wick: Chapter 4, both significant action movies, but more importantly, both starring Keanu Reeves.

Matrix 4 will find Reeves reprising his role of action icon Neo, alongside Carrie-Anne Moss, Jada Pinkett Smith and new recruits Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who's thought to be playing a young Morpheus, Neil Patrick Harris and Jonathan Groff.
John Wick: Chapter 4, meanwhile, will find Reeves returning as the world-weary assassin John Wick for a fourth violent adventure.
To add an extra layer to all this, the John Wick movies were devised by former stunt performers Chad Stahelski and David Leitch, who first met Reeves on the Matrix movies.
Matrix 4, meanwhile, has taken the slot Warner Bros previously had for Taika Waititi's remake of anime classic Akira, which has now completely slipped off the schedule.

It's likely that the plan have been put on hold while the Kiwi director gets to grips with Marvel sequel Thor: Love and Thunder, also due out in 2021, on November 5.
In other release news, Warner also has also announced that its DC movie The Flash, starring Ezra Miller and directed by It helmsman Andy Muschietti will arrive on July 1, 2022.
