What to watch on Prime Video in May 2024 from Clarkson's Farm to The Idea of You
We're back on the farm with Jeremy Clarkson as Prime Video has unveiled its new movies and TV shows for May 2024.
Jeremy Clarkson is back, with the return of his farming series definitely the pick of the bunch when it comes to what to watch on Prime Video in May. We're back on Clarkson's Farm for more money-making schemes and agricultural action from the former Top Gear host.
Elsewhere, there's a new romcom that Harry Styles fans might enjoy more than most and a documentary series celebrating the most incredible season in the illustrious history of Manchester United. We're also delving back into the sci-fi mysteries of Outer Range.
So there's plenty of new material heading to Prime Video from the worlds of both movies and TV. Let's have a look at the stuff you need to keep an eye out for.
The Idea of You | 2 May
The Big Sick director Michael Showalter returns to the romcom world with this adaptation of Robinne Lee's novel of the same name. Anne Hathaway plays a single mother who ends up in a romance with the much younger lead singer of a boy band, portrayed by Nicholas Galitzine. Is it based on Harry Styles? Perhaps!

What to watch on Netflix in May
What to watch on Disney+ in May
What to watch on Paramount+ in May
What to watch on Apple TV+ in May
Unsurprisingly, this sort of relationship leads to plenty of problems with the potential for laughs and tears in equal measure. We're having a bit of a romcom renaissance in the streaming era and this looks like the potential next hit of that wave.
Clarkson's Farm S3 | 3 May
Clarkson's Farm has proven to be an entirely unexpected success for Jeremy Clarkson, shifting his image slightly from the blokey petrolhead of Top Gear and The Grand Tour. In this third series, the farm faces an array of new problems, including rising supply costs and the danger of crops struggling in unseasonably hot weather.
Prime Video has decided to split this series into two parts. The first four episodes will arrive on 10 May, with the remaining four debuting on the streaming service a week later on 17 May.
Outer Range S2 | 16 May
In the first season of Outer Range, Josh Brolin's brilliantly named Royal Abbott was a rancher defending his Wyoming land and his family's future. They discovered a strange, otherworldly void on the edge of their land. Suddenly, this dusty Western became a sci-fi tale.

The mystery deepens even further in this second season, in which Brolin returns as Royal as the family reckons with the surprise disappearance of one of their own. They must explore the strangeness of the void even further to get the answers they need.
99 | 17 May
In the 1998-99 football season, Manchester United managed an achievement so enormous that it took nearly 25 years for any English team to repeat it. Over the course of 10 days in 1999, they sealed victory in the Premier League, the Champions League, and the FA Cup — an historic treble. And they did it in the most dramatic fashion.
For anyone who remembers this season, the new docuseries 99 will be a great insight into those days. There are interviews with key figures like Teddy Sheringham, David Beckham, and Peter Schmeichel as the doc tries to uncover exactly what made that particular iteration of Sir Alex Ferguson's footballing juggernaut so unstoppable.
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes | 31 May
Did you ever wonder how Donald Sutherland's malevolent President Snow began his ascent to the top of the world? Well, whether you did or didn't, Suzanne Collins — author of The Hunger Games — decided to answer that question in her 2020 prequel novel, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. Naturally, it immediately went on the fast track to the big screen.
Rachel Zegler's effervescent charisma allows her to make a decent fist of Katniss-alike tribute Lucy Gray Baird, while Tom Blyth plays the younger, less worldly Snow. It's an adventure of epic length and, when it's at its best, it's as gripping as any of the Hunger Games movies. There's definitely merit in this return to Panem.
