Prime Video UK August 2022: Best new movies and TV from 'Thirteen Lives' to 'All or Nothing: Arsenal'
One of the most successful documentary series in the history of Prime Video UK returns as Arsenal become the latest football club to open their doors to the All or Nothing series. The show follows the team's battle for Champion's League qualification during the most recent season of Premier League action.
On the movie front, Ron Howard's survival thriller Thirteen Lives — based on the Thai cave rescue of 2018 — is the headline option, alongside a new Liam Neeson actioner — there's always one on the way — and a film in which Sylvester Stallone plays a retired superhero.

New movies coming to Prime Video UK in August 2022
Thirteen Lives (5 August)
In June 2018, 12 members of a Thai football team entered a cave system along with one of their coaches, only to become trapped when rainfall flooded the area and blocked their escape route. Directed by Ron Howard, this thriller dramatises the rescue efforts, which were led by a British team of divers. Among those playing the rescuers are Viggo Mortensen, Colin Farrell and Joel Edgerton.
Memory (19 August)
It's a Liam Neeson action thriller. You know what you're getting. Despite his constant threats/promises to retire from the genre, he can't resist wielding a firearm and getting his fight on. This latest thriller, directed by Casino Royale helmer Martin Campbell, has a slightly different hook. Neeson plays a hitman with early onset dementia who finds himself on the run when he turns down a job that would have forced him to kill a child.
Samaritan (26 August)
Aussie filmmaker Julius Avery has two very impressive genre efforts under his belt in the shape of Ewan McGregor-starring thriller Son of a Gun and the blood-soaked wartime horror Overlord. With that in mind, his third feature should be well worth a look.
Samaritan stars Sylvester Stallone as the titular superhero, who had been presumed missing for decades after a famous battle. Euphoria's Javon Walton plays the young boy who realises that Samaritan is still alive.
Untrapped: The Story of Lil Baby (26 August)
This documentary explores Lil Baby's rise to fame in the Atlanta rap world, following him from his earliest days and his legal troubles around drugs as a teenager through to his status today as a Grammy-winning titan of hip-hop. The doc arrives on Prime Video in the wake of its premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival.

All or Nothing: Arsenal (weekly from 4 August)
Arsenal have become the third Premier League side — after Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur — to open their doors to the All or Nothing documentary crew. The series, being released over three weeks in chunks of several episodes, follows Mikel Arteta's team throughout the 2021/22 season. Daniel Kaluuya — a lifelong Arsenal fan — narrates the action.
Cosmic Love S1 (12 August)
Just when you thought that every possible dating show quirk had been done already, Cosmic Love arrives to throw astrology into the mix. The series follows four singles — who each represent one of the core elements — and offers them potential soulmates via the medium of astrological compatibility. They live in a retreat, accompanied by the voice of the Astro Chamber, and are guided through their decisions by Ophira and Tali Edut — known as the AstroTwins.
A League of Their Own S1 (12 August)
This series aims to broaden the canvas of Penny Marshall's classic 1992 movie A League of Their Own and explore the world of women's baseball in the 1940s beyond the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. It follows a cast of characters inside and outside of that league, including those hoping to battle their way to the top of the sport.
Post Malone: Runaway (12 August via Amazon Freevee)
Concert documentaries have become a feature of streaming services, with Post Malone the latest star to step into the spotlight with documentary Runaway. The hour-long film follows the rapper during his 2019 and 2020 arena tour, featuring exclusive access behind the scenes and intimate interviews with the star himself.
Making the Cut S3 (19 August)
Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn return to host another season of this competition series in which budding designers battle to win a million dollars and a partnership with Amazon Fashion, allowing them to take their designs to the next level. Nicole Richie and Jeremy Scott are back as the judges deciding which fashion hopeful they will offer a boost to stardom.
Sprung S1 (weekly from 19 August via Amazon Freevee)
Set during the pandemic lockdown, comedy series Sprung follows a recently released criminal who finds himself sheltering in place with other former inmates. The ensemble all decide to use their criminal abilities for good as they turn their lives around.
Troppo S1 (26 August via Amazon Freevee)
Based on a bestselling novel, this eight-part murder mystery series takes its title from the term for someone who is affected by tropical heat. It follows the story of a private investigator who teams up with an ex-cop in order to solve the disappearance of a Korean tech pioneer in Queensland.
