Peter Pan & Wendy cast: Meet the stars of the new Disney+ remake
Captain Hook and Peter Pan face-off yet again, this time on Disney+
New Disney+ film Peter Pan & Wendy once again reimagines this well-worn tale of the boy who refuses to grow up, his adventures in Neverland and long-running battles with the evil pirate Captain Hook.
Released in 1953, Disney’s animated Peter Pan is one of the most fondly remembered features of the studio’s original golden age — and the latest to get the live-action treatment.
Not only does this sleek new feature promise to bring J.M Barrie’s timeless tale into a modern era — complete with more considered depictions of some key characters compared to its outdated animated sibling — it also promises to focus just as much of its time on Wendy Darling as its titular, tights-wearing hero.

Peter Pan & Wendy plot
Peter Pan & Wendy is directed by David Lowery, the same filmmaker who has spent years keeping audiences guessing with his considered and immaculately-crafted filmography.
From helming a previous live-action Disney adaptation in 2016’s Pete’s Dragon to giving us 2018’s sombre death tale A Ghost Story and 2021’s fantasy epic The Green Night, Lowery is a filmmaker that seems unafraid to shake things up when it comes to viewer expectations.
As a result, his take on Disney’s Peter Pan will no doubt be different to many of the other adaptations that have come before — and there’s been quite a few of them.
From Steven Spielberg’s Hook, released in 1991 and starring Robin Williams as an all-grown-up Pan, to 2003’s Peter Pan which placed Jason Isaacs in the role of Captain Hook and 2015’s character origin story Pan — cinema certainly has had no shortage of trips to Never-Never Land over the years.
While retaining much of the iconography of Disney’s animated original (as seen in the film’s ship-battle poster below), Peter Pan & Wendy shifts the focus onto Wendy Darling, a young woman who doesn’t want to grow up. Luckily, she soon meets a young boy who promises to whisk her away to a time-free land while kick-starting a colourful adventure.
Upon arrival in Neverland, Peter Pan introduces Wendy and her siblings to Tinkerbell, the Lost Boys and the other inhabitants of this magical realm, before the group is forced into battle with the one-handed Captain Hook.
Peter Pan & Wendy cast
Newcomer Alexander Molony makes his feature film debut as Peter Pan, with Wendy played by Ever Anderson, a star who you may recognise from Black Widow as a young Natasha Romanoff.
Meanwhile, Jude Law commandeers the most feared ship in Neverland as Captain James Hook, a pirate who lost his hand to a hungry crocodile. Black-ish actor Yara Shahidi stars as Pan’s loyal friend Tinkerbell, with comedian Jim Gaffigan playing Hook’s right-hand man Mr. Smee.
Fellow newcomers Joshua Pickering and Jacobi Jupe play Wendy’s younger brothers John and Michael, respectively, with Molly Parker and Alan Tudyk portraying the family’s parents, Mary and George Darling.
Another batch of young actors makes their feature debut as the Lost Boys, with Cree actress Alyssa Wapanatahk bringing authenticity to the role of Tiger Lily, the warrior daughter of Neverland’s indigenous tribe.
