Patricia Arquette accidentally hit co-star Joey King with her Golden Globes trophy
Patricia Arquette made a major impact at Sunday’s Golden Globes — and we don’t just mean the actress’s impassioned speech about the importance of voting.
Arquette took home the trophy for Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Miniseries or Television for her role in Hulu’s The Act, and at some point her award made contact with co-star Joey King’s forehead. King, who was herself nominated in the Best Actress category, showed off her bruised brow on social media.

While King made it clear that there were no hard feelings over the accidental ding, Arquette couldn’t resist responding with a joke.
What happens in the elevator stays in the elevator! No seriously I’m so sorry sweetest one!

As it turns out, there’s video footage of the moment King got Globed.
The actresses were filming a playful video inside an elevator for InStyle magazine’s Golden Globes party coverage. Just before the doors close, a Brunhild-styled Arquette raises her prize just as her 20-year-old co-star leans her head forward.

King later responded on Twitter saying “there are worse things to be hit on the head with”.

The Act, inspired by the real life of Gypsy Rose Blanchard and the murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, is available to watch in the UK on Amazon Prime.
