Oscars 2020: James Corden and Rebel Wilson wear 'Cats' outfits to present Visual Effects award
James Corden and Rebel Wilson dressed up as their characters from Cats as they presented the Oscar for Best Visual Effects.
The stars, who played Bustopher Jones and Jennyanydots in the box office flop, donned cat costumes as they walked on to the stage at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre.
“As cast members of the motion picture Cats,” began Wilson, allowing Corden to add, “nobody more than us understands the importance of good visual effects”.

The short and sweet gag came before the duo read out the nominees for Best Visual Effects, including Avengers: Endgame, The Lion King, The Irishman and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
Before handing the award to the team behind 1917, Corden and Wilson briefly became mesmerised by the microphone stand, pawing at it in feline fashion.
The reaction on social media was split between sheer confusion and delight.

Congratulations to James Corden and Rebel Wilson for donning full Cats costumes and presenting the Best Visual Effects award at #Oscars it's nice when the industry has a sense of humour about its gigantic cockups.

Wilson previously used her presenting moment at the BAFTAs to skewer Cats, before joking about Prince Andrew and the all-male shortlist for Best Director.
She said that her red and black dress was created from two other garments, adding: “The red is from that one time I didn’t win Miss Australia. And the black is from a funeral I just went to for the feature film Cats.”
Corden, meanwhile, said in an interview that he hadn’t even seen the movie.
