With the 2020 Baftas officially done and dusted, awards season will reach its natural crescendo on 10 February.
In the wee hours of Monday morning, the 92nd Academy Awards will be taking place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, with the biggest films of 2019 competing to win Oscars across 24 different categories.
It’s a fairly open field when it comes to Best Picture with Bafta-winner 1917 competing with Parasite, Once Upon A Time... In Hollywood, Marriage Story, Little Women, Joker, Jojo Rabbit, The Irishman and Le Mans ‘66 for the top prize.
Joaquin Phoenix (Joker), Renée Zellweger (Judy), Brad Pitt (Once Upon A Time... In Hollywood) and Laura Dern (Marriage Story) will all be hoping to carry their awards season momentum to Oscar glory, and Phoenix’s DC Comics film goes into the show with the most nominations: eleven in total.
