Oscars 2014: Liza Minelli misses out on Ellen Degeneres’ amazing selfie
Cabaret star too short for photo that broke Twitter.
Oh Liza Minelli. The actress just missed out on appearing in, literally, the most retweeted photo of all time at the 2014 Oscars.
In the amazing ‘selfie’, Academy Award host Ellen DeGeneres gathered Oscar stars Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Channing Tatum, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Kevin Spacey, Jared Leto and Lupita Nyong’o.
However, as this brutal behind-the-scenes photo from Harry Clayton-Wright shows, Minelli was too short to make the snap. She’d done her hair and everything.

It’s a shame for the ‘Cabaret’ legend, as the super-exclusive snap went on to break the record for the most retweets (currently 1.5 million and counting).
It beat the record held by Barack and Michelle Obama for their snap after the 2012 election, which earned a mere 771,635 retweets.
DeGeneres later told the audience that she had received an email from Twitter that confirmed her selfie caused the outage.
Ellen took the time to make it up to the star, posting another selfie, this time taking into account the diminutive stature of her "bestie".
