Original green Power Ranger was kicked out of the reboot's premiere
Original Green Ranger Jason David Frank has revealed that he was kicked out of new ‘Power Rangers’ reboot’s recent Hollywood premiere and missed the film’s ending.
The reason why involves spoiling a minor element of the end of the film, but one fans who’ve yet to see it may not want to have revealed – so be warned.

Frank, who played Tommy in the classic 90s series, enjoys a cameo at the end of the film alongside original Pink Ranger Amy Jo Johnson.
As he explains to The Hollywood Reporter: “I’m the guy in the movie theater who wanted to get a reaction shot of the audience reacting to Amy and me when our cameo appeared.
“Right after our cameo appeared, I got escorted out by security because I had a camera in the movie. I didn’t see the end of the movie, because security was arguing with me outside and I was trying to tell security, ‘That’s me in the movie!’ And they said, ‘I need your phone!’ I’m like, ‘You’re not getting my phone!'”
The cameo in question involves Frank and Johnson at the front of a crowd during the film’s action-packed climax, but it wasn’t the original cameo that was planned.
“The first cameo we did was cut,” Frank explained. “Me and Amy were filming in the Krispy Kreme. I grew a ponytail out for that. I was thinking, ‘If I grow the ponytail out, I’ll shock the fans when they see me.’ We shot a scene there with Rita [Elizabeth Banks], and we were dressed in green and pink.”
Sometime between then and the filming of the cameo that was eventually used in the final cut, Frank cut his hair and lost the ponytail Tommy famous wore back in the original series.
Frank is the most famous Power Ranger, having appeared as Tommy across multiple series between the 1993 original and ‘Power Rangers Super Megaforce: The Legendary Battle’ in 2015.
The new film doesn’t feature a new incarnation of Tommy’s Green Ranger, but does star a rebooted cast. Dacre Montgomery plays Jason, the Red Ranger, Naomi Scott plays Kimberly (Pink), RJ Cyler plays Billy (Blue), Ludi Lin plays Zack (Black) and Becky G plays (Trini).
‘Power Rangers’ is in cinemas now.
