New Star Trek Movie Officially Announced
It looks as though ‘Star Trek 4’ is happening.
According to an official press release, ‘Star Trek Beyond’ will be getting a sequel, in the form of a fourth film in the ‘Star Trek’ reboot series.
“Paramount Pictures, Skydance and Bad Robot today announced that the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise will return to the big screen for another voyage,” they revealed.
“In the next instalment of the epic space adventure, Chris Pine’s Captain Kirk will cross paths with a man he never had a chance to meet, but whose legacy has haunted him since the day he was born: his father.”

And it looks like Chris Hemsworth will return.
“Chris Hemsworth, who appeared in 2009’s ‘Star Trek’ will return to the space saga as George Kirk to star alongside Pine.”
Of course, Hemsworth’s stint as George Kirk was short-lived – relegated to a bit part after George’s untimely death at the very start of the movie. But now it looks as though George Kirk is back – but what that means remains to be seen.
Considering the time-travelling antics of Leonard Nimoy, it seems likely that this will play some part in the movie. After all, Chris Hemsworth is way too young to play an older George Kirk.
But for now, we’ll have to wait and see.
‘Star Trek Beyond’ stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, John Chu, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg and Anton Yelchin.
Justin Lin directed the movie, based on a script by Simon Pegg and Doug Jung.
‘Star Trek Beyond’ heads to cinemas on 22 July 2016.
