Yahoo Movies Fan fury as Netflix axes 'The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance' after one series
Netflix has axed ambitious puppet fantasy The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance after just one series, it has confirmed.
And fans are furious about it.

#DarkCrystal was canceled because it won for best children's series. @netflix can't be associated with quality children's programs. Now if the puppets were 11 years old and twerking and being sexualized then it would get 12 seasons.

I was literally about to start Dark Crystal Age of Resistance this week and now i’m hearing it’s getting cancelled after one season?! I’ve seen so much love for the show why would they cancel! I haven’t even watched it and i’m sad! Netflix why 🤦♀️

The prequel to Jim Henson and Frank Oz's 1982 movie The Dark Crystal, it returned to the world of Thra and followed gelflings Rian, Deet, and Brea in their rebellion against their tyrannical rulers.
But despite a dizzyingly impressive voice cast, the show will not return, despite having won an Emmy for Outstanding Children’s Program last weekend.
“We can confirm that there will not be an additional season of The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. We know fans are eager to learn how this chapter of The Dark Crystal saga concludes and we’ll look for ways to tell that story in the future,” said executive producer Lisa Henson in a statement.

Taron Egerton, Anya Taylor-Joy and Nathalie Emmanuel played the three lead characters, while the likes of Helena Bonham Carter, Jason Isaacs, Simon Pegg, Andy Samberg, Benedict Wong, Mark Hamill, Awkwafina, Lena Headey, Alicia Vikander, Natalie Dormer, Eddie Izzard and Mark Strong also made up the cast.
Reviews were also positive, Vulture calling it 'a staggering artistic achievement'.
