Natalie Portman teases Jane Foster’s new powers in ‘Thor: Love And Thunder’
Natalie Portman has provided a brief but illuminating update on her upcoming role as Jane Foster in Thor: Love And Thunder.
Once again she confirmed that her character will have superhero powers, but then she teased that they won’t be the same as those that Thor possesses. The Oscar winning actress admitted as much during her recent appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, which she filmed even though she is currently in Sydney, Australia, preparing to shoot the Marvel blockbuster.

While Portman was taking part in the discussion to promote her new book Motherhood, the conversation soon turned to her upcoming return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

It has already been confirmed that Portman’s Jane Foster will be a female incarnation of Thor in Love And Thunder, with the 39-year-old actress telling Clarkson that she “does have powers,” before then quickly adding, “It’s not exactly the same as Thor. It’s her own version of it. And, she’s called The Mighty Thor.”
Thor: Love And Thunder marks Portman’s first appearance as Jane Foster since 2013’s Thor: The Dark World. The cast for the film is incredibly packed, too, as not only will Chris Hemsworth reprise his titular role as the beloved superhero, but so will Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, while Christian Bale is joining as the villain.
Written by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson and Taika Waititi, with the Kiwi filmmaker also directing after his critically acclaimed work on 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok, Love And Thunder is one of the most anticipated installments of Marvel’s upcoming fourth phase.
