Natalie Portman still hasn’t shown her kids the 'Star Wars' prequels

Natalie Portman still hasn’t shown her two children her performances as Padme Amidala in the Star Wars prequel trilogy.

The Oscar-winner told Fatherly that, even though the reaction to The Phantom Menace, Attack Of The Clones, and Revenge Of The Sith was intense, she is now grateful to have been apart of something “that kids relate to so much”.

But Portman admitted that she’s not shown the movies to her son Aleph, nine, and daughter Amalia, three.

“I haven’t shown my kids the movies yet,” she said. “I think it’s so weird for them to think of me as anything other than their mom.”

“They’ve seen the recent Star Wars movies that I am not in – my son has, my daughter, is too young. It feels really lucky to be part of something that’s every child’s imaginary world. It’s very exciting to be able to impress my kids a little bit.”

Portman’s children will soon have another reason to be impressed by their mother’s work, as she is finally set to reprise her role as Jane Foster in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Sure, they can watch her as the scientist in 2011’s Thor and 2013’s Thor: The Dark World, but it has already been confirmed that Foster will manifest into the female incarnation of Thor in Thor: Love And Thunder.

Co-written by Taika Waititi and Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, with Waititi directing, Love And Thunder will once again star Chris Hemsworth in the titular role, as well as Tessa Thompson and Christian Bale.

Filming on Thor: Love And Thunder is set to begin in early 2021 with a release scheduled for February 11, 2022.
