James Bond star Naomie Harris reveals the actor she's backing for 007 role
Naomie Harris has revealed the actor she's supporting to take over as the new James Bond following Daniel Craig's departure after last year's No Time Die.
The actor, who has starred as Eve Moneypenny alongside Craig as 007 since 2012, said she's very much 'down' for Chiwetel Ejiofor to be cast in the iconic role, whom she currently stars opposite in Paramount+ sci-fi series The Man Who Fell to Earth.
"Do you know what, it was so funny," she said during her appearance on Good Morning Britain on Tuesday, 21 June. "We were walking the red carpet yesterday and apparently Chiwetel's name is on the list of people to be the next Bond. I didn't know this but I'm down for that!"

Harris was promoting their new show, which is based on the 1963 novel of the same title by Walter Tevis and is a continuation of the 1976 cult film starring David Bowie.
Ejiofor plays an alien who travels to Earth in search of Justin Falls, played by Harris, who is the only woman who can save his species. Meanwhile, Bill Nighy takes over the role made famous by Bowie.
Ejiofor is known for his lead role in the Oscar-winning 12 Years a Slave, following his breakout roles in Kinky Boots and Steven Knight's Dirty Pretty Things. He's also starred in The Martian, Sherlock Gnomes, The Lion King and playing Baron Mordo in Marvel's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
No Time to Die director Cary Joji Fukunaga recently confirmed that he had discussed replacements for Craig with 007 producer Barbara Broccoli.

"Two years ago I took Barbara to my favourite Japanese restaurant in New York," he explained to Total Film. "I tried to wine and dine her. At that point Daniel said he wasn’t doing another one, so we spit-balled all the potential new Bonds – that was exciting.
"I just told her what I loved about Bond and what it meant to me growing up. And just that I’d be honoured if they’d consider me for the next one."
