Inside Out 2 runtime confirmed as shorter than first movie
Inside Out 2 has revealed its runtime, with the sequel set to run shorter than the original film.
The sequel to the 2015 Pixar film will once again focus on the emotions of Riley, with Joy (Amy Poehler) and co having to adjust as their host enters the dreaded teenage years.
Ahead of the film’s release later this month (June 14), the film’s runtime was unveiled via the Irish Film Classification Office (IFCO), with its length confirmed to be 96 minutes. This represents a four minute decrease from the first film, which ran for 100 minutes.

The first trailer showcased some of the new emotions/characters that will be present in the film, with Joy, Sadness (Phyllis Smith), Fear (Tony Hale), Anger (Lewis Black) and Disgust (Liza Lapira) being joined by Anxiety (Maya Hawke), Envy (Ayo Edebiri) and Ennui (Adèle Exarchopoulos).
Other new characters include Embarrassment (Paul Walter Hauser) and Nostalgia (June Squibb), with a surprising addition seeing I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! winner Sam Thompson lend his voice to Security Man Sam for the UK version of the film.
“Inside Out 2 returns to the mind of newly minted teenager Riley just as headquarters is undergoing a sudden demolition to make room for something entirely unexpected: new Emotions!” reads the logline for the film.

With the sequel set to hit screens in a couple of weeks, fans of the franchise can rejoice after Pixar president Jim Morris confirmed that a spin-off series, Dream Productions, is in the works.
Inside Out 2 will be released in cinemas on June 14.
