Lily James weighs in on Mamma Mia 3 possibility
Pam & Tommy star Lily James is "desperate" for a third Mamma Mia movie to materialise.
She plays the young Donna Sheridan-Carmichael in this sun-kissed, all-singing and all-dancing universe, while none other than Meryl Streep breathes life into the present day version.
Seen in the role four years ago via flashbacks, James got chatting to ScreenRant about possibilities in the future.

"I'm desperate for it to happen," she said of Mamma Mia 3. "It was like, it didn't feel real. It was so fun just singing on the beach and on a boat. I don't know.
"Why isn't it happening? We all need it. It's been COVID. It's been terrible. Let's do Mamma Mia."
Obviously she'd want to be a part of it, but the actress also suggested the filmmakers "probably won't have me – it'll probably be like, Sophie's baby".

Meanwhile, back in 2020, James referenced the slight discomfort she experienced over the role itself.
"Trying to say in a sentence, 'I'm playing the young version of Meryl Streep?' That bit, I sort of winced at," she admitted.
With a record 21 Oscar nominations and 32 Golden Globe nominations to her name, we can appreciate the intimidation of Streep for sure.
Despite this, the Baby Driver actress did also express her absolute delight over being on set for the sequel Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, saying: "It was one of the happiest times in my life, living on an island and singing and dancing with the most wonderful group of people."
Mamma Mia, let's hope she gets to do it all again.
