Liam Neeson turns up to restaurant which offers free food to Liam Neeson
Everyone likes free food – even Liam Neeson.
Perhaps especially Liam Neeson, it appears, after he turned up at sandwich joint in New Westminster, British Columbia, which was running a special offer.
The offer being free food for Liam Neeson.
According to a spokesman for the restaurant, Alex Johrden, Neeson pitched up unannounced after seeing the sign in the street, and demanded ‘where’s my sandwich?’ in his best Liam Neeson in ‘Taken’ voice.
Turns out he didn’t eat at the Big Star Sandwich Co. in the end, but he has now had a sandwich named in his honour.
“That’s because it has a lot of beef, a one-two punch of bacon and hickory sticks and spice that will get revenge on you tomorrow,” Johrden told the Canadian Press.
“This is about the most A-list star we’ve ever had, but in the area, we’ve had Elijah Wood and the like.”
Neeson is in New Westminster filming his latest movie ‘Hard Powder’, the tale of an honest snowplough driver whose son is murdered by a local drug kingpin, and who then embarks upon a vengeful rampage.
It’s based on a 2014 movie from Norway called ‘In Order of Disappearance’, helmed by Hans Petter Moland – who made the original version – and co-stars Laura Dern and Emmy Rossum.
The production has reportedly run into problems, however, after Parks Canada refused to allow filming in the Alberta mountains, over concerns about the drug-related plot.
