Keanu Reeves has written his very own comic-book 'BRZRKR'
Keanu Reeves has once again shown that there is seemingly no-end to his talents, as it has been revealed that The Matrix star has written his very own comic-book.
The action packed and very violent 12-issue long BRZRKR is co-written by Reeves and Matt Kindt, illustrated by Alessandro Vitti, and revolves around an immortal warrior who has travelled and fought across the world for centuries. In the present day, Berzerker works for the US government.

Reeves recently told USA Today that he was the one that approached Boom! about making the comic, pitching them a “character who was born 80,000 years ago, half man, his father's a war god. It's a little fantasy in reality.”
“I had this image in my head of a guy fighting through the ages because of his father's compulsion to violence,” he adds, before saying that he wanted Berzerker to still be “trapped and trying to figure it out.”
Boom!’s editor in chief Matt Gagnon was obviously overjoyed to work with Reeves, calling it “immensely cool.”
“Spend five minutes with Keanu and it becomes clear very quickly why he’s earned all the success he has. Exceptional creative instincts, deep reservoirs of wisdom on story, the ability to consistently tap into the raw emotion of a moment, relentless commitment to quality and the task at hand – it’s all this and much more that make Keanu an inspiring force.”
Kindt says that Reeves brought creativity to “the action and the backstory of the characters,” while also allowing his writing partner to insert his own “fascination for history, conspiracies and espionage into the mix along with a fragmented narrative structure.”

Ultimately, though, Reeves wanted the story to explore “the nature of violence, morals, ethics (and) what side do you choose,” while he also wouldn’t rule out playing Berzerker in a future film, especially since Boom! has a first look deal with Netflix.
“I’d love to play Berzerker!” He says. “It's a really fun story so if it's not me, hopefully someone can play it.”
Boom! Studios will release a new installment of BRZRKR every month starting on October 7.
