Kate Mara Still Hasn’t Seen Fantastic Four

Poor ‘Fantastic Four’… even the people who were in it don’t want to see it.

Kate Mara, who starred as Sue Storm in the ill-fated superhero movie, says that she’s still not seen the finished product.

She also had a few frank things to say about how it turned out.

In an interview with The Times, she said: “You don’t always have to learn some incredible life lesson when making a s**t movie. Sometimes it’s just what happens.

“Usually you can tell when you’re making a s**t movie, so the experience is not a good one.

“[Fantastic Four] was a tricky shoot but you know… When you know when you’re shooting it that a film isn’t going to be what you want it to be? That was not the case at all.”

She also said that she was now a little 'gun-shy’ of seeing the movie, following its failure, but would likely see it 'eventually’.

She added that she was 'highly disappointed’ that director Josh Trank decided to air his grievances about his own movie in Twitter.

The inexperienced helmsman posted: “A year ago I had a fantastic version of this. And it would’ve received great reviews. You’ll probably never see it. That’s reality though.”

The movie was throughly panned by critics, who almost universally hated it. It sits with a lowly 9% 'fresh’ rating on reviews aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes.

It also flopped at the box office, making just $120 million from its $180 million budget.

It was widely reported that Trank, who prior to 'Fantastic Four’ had only directed a single movie, 2012’s surprise hit 'Chronicle’, fell out with 20th Century Fox while making the movie.

But despite the issues, producer and writer Simon Kinberg has said that he’s hopeful a sequel will be on the cards.

“We’re figuring out what that movie would be,” he told MTV. “I’d like that to happen.”

On the reception of the film, he added: “I was obviously disappointed.

“I was most disappointed that fans didn’t like it. I care more about them than I do anyone else. But I haven’t done a full deep dive on it. Do I think it was unfairly treated? I don’t know.”
