Jurassic World Dominion stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard have selected the winner of a competition that gave film fans the chance to become a part of cinema history.
In collaboration with Universal Pictures, the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) hosted a nationwide competition for young people — aged 12-16 — to design the iconic BBFC Black Card for the upcoming summer blockbuster, Jurassic World Dominion.
Since the early days of motion pictures, the BBFC’s iconic Black Card has provided age ratings across cinema screens.
After extensive deliberation by a judging panel, Bryce Dallas Howard selected Aaron Larway from The Wirral as the winner.
Aaron’s unique re-imagining of the iconic BBFC Black Card will be seen by audiences nationwide when it’s projected on the big screen before every cinema showing of Jurassic World Dominion in the UK, opening in cinemas from Friday.

He has also been granted the once-in-a-lifetime experience of attending a private preview screening of the film ahead of release. He will also receive a framed copy of the BBFC Black Card, and an abundance of film merchandise to mark the epic conclusion of the Jurassic era. Ten runners-up will also be awarded a goody bag as a prize.
Competition winner Aaron said: “My love of both the prehistoric era and Jurassic World was the main source of inspiration behind my Black Card design, as I watched all of the Jurassic Park movies when I was younger.
"I've always wanted a reason to paint a dinosaur and this competition gave me a reason to do so, which has been so fun. The style I painted in was drawn from the work of Paul Signac who I have been studying for my art project and who I really like. I chose his style as it felt the most expressive to me and I could adapt it to my own preference of colours without compromising his technique and aesthetic."

“This is your moment to put your mark on a piece of film history 65 million years in the making,” Chris Pratt explained in a video released to mark the competition launch.
“Show us what Jurassic World means to you.”
Sarah Peacock, BBFC Compliance and Education Manager, said: “Following its success, we are delighted for the upcoming re-launch of our Create The Card competition, ahead of the highly-anticipated summer blockbuster.
"We are excited to see the fresh ideas and new perspectives of young people around the UK, and look forward to recognising their potential. Young people are at the heart of what we do and this competition provides another opportunity to engage them in the work of the BBFC.”

In 2019 the BBFC ran a similar competition with Disney's Maleficent: Mistress of Evil which was won by May McGlone, a year 8 student from Our Lady Of Sion Senior School, Worthing.
Young people between 12-16 can enter the competition by either scanning and emailing a copy of their A4 landscape design, or posting it directly to the BBFC’s London offices.
