'Joker' leads the 2020 BAFTA nominations

Joker is leading the pack in the 2020 BAFTA nominations, bringing in 11 nods including Best Film, Best Director for Todd Phillips and Best Actor for Joaquin Phoenix.

The movie, which tells the origin story of Batman’s nemesis, is also nominated in the Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Cinematography categories.

Meanwhile, Margot Robbie has been nominated twice in the Best Supporting Actress category; once for her role in Bombshell, and again for playing Sharon Tate in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time in Hollywood.

Both Once Upon A Time In Hollywood and Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman received 10 nominations each, while Sam Mendes’ forthcoming World War One movie 1917 received nine nods.
