Johnny Depp visits sick children dressed as Jack Sparrow
Johnny Depp surprised everyone when he turned up to Great Ormond Street Hospital in his ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ movie costume.
Depp has a well publicised relationship with the world famous hospital having appeared there before to visit ill patients. However, when he rolled up dressed as the iconic Jack Sparrow from Disney’s swashbuckling franchise, no one could quite believe it was him.
In 2007 his daughter Lily-Rose was admitted there for kidney failure, so when Depp returned in 2015 in Jack Sparrow costume, he described it as ‘a gift’ and the least he could do having had firsthand experience of what patients and parents have gone through.

Plenty of people took to Twitter to share the array of heartwarming photos taken with various children that have been admitted to the hospital. It certain seemed to make their day, that’s for sure.
One patient tweeted her startled reaction, simply captioning her photo with the movie star as ‘what the f**k’.
The same girl also posted a photo to her Instagram, as she was still in amazement in regards to her surprise guest.
This is actual Johnny depp. Just came in to the hospital. I'm so confused

Suffice to say that Depp’s appearance was a much welcomed one and one the public have taken to heart, especially during the Christmas period. It’s perhaps in contrasts to the unwelcome, recent publicity he’s had in regards to splitting with wife Amber Heard amidst allegations of domestic abuse.
However, with Depp’s kindness on show here, it seems the general reaction to his Great Ormand Street visit was a very popular one indeed.
You can see Depp cameo in ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ which is in cinemas now.
