Jamie Foxx action movie ironically derailed by bomb scare

Jamie Foxx's Netflix project Back in Action has scrapped a huge stunt after a dormant bomb was discovered on location.

Billed as an action-comedy, this one also boasts Cameron Diaz, Glenn Close, Kyle Chandler and Andrew Scott in the cast - marking the Charlie's Angels star's first cinematic release since 2014's Annie remake.

A source told The Sun: "The production expected the scene to go off with a bang, but nobody could have predicted it would all be derailed by a bomb."

The stunt in question had been pencilled in for East London's Royal Docks last month, with a 24-metre barrier erected where the explosion would go off.

During the construction of the set, though, staff encountered what they believed to be an unexploded device from World War II in the water.

"Safety was the main priority, so after speaking with the police and relevant authorities the whole thing was cancelled," revealed the source.

"Naturally, that part of the river is never normally disturbed, so it's been left as it is."

Following the blast's cancellation, Back in Action was forced to create it infront of a green screen at Longcross Studios instead, eating up a large chunk of its budget.

Diaz, who originally found fame after appearing in The Mask opposite Jim Carrey, suggested she wasn't "looking to" make any more movies after welcoming daughter Raddix in 2019.

"I'm never going to say never about anything in life, I'm just not that person. So will I ever make a movie again? I'm not looking to, but will I? I don't know. I have no idea. Maybe. Never say never," she said.
