Jack Huston Confirmed For The Crow Reboot
Just over two weeks since word first got out that ‘Boardwalk Empire’ actor Jack Huston was in talks to take on the lead role of Eric Draven in the long-awaited reboot of ‘The Crow,’ it appears his casting has been confirmed.
While there has been no official statement from Huston, director Corin Hardy (upcoming horror movie ‘The Hallow’) or studio Relativity Media thus far, ‘The Crow’s creator James O’Barr has told Dread Central that the 32-year old British actor (nephew of Hollywood icon Anjelica Huston) “has definitely been cast.”
O’Barr added that he was “really happy with the choice,” and that he expects the film to begin production “in a couple of months.”

It’s noteworthy that O’Barr - on board the reboot as a creative consultant - has expressed his support for Huston’s casting, as the writer-artist had previously named ‘Being Human’ US actor Sam Witwer as his first choice.
This new take on ‘The Crow’ from screenwriter Cliff Dorfman (2011′s ‘Warrior’) is said to be based directly on O’Barr’s original graphic novel, which was a more sombre, grounded and brutal affair than the flashier 1994 movie from director Alex Proyas.
The casting of the lead role had long been the reboot’s main stumbling block for some time. Luke Evans had been attached for some time, but moved on in favour of other roles once his contract expired.
Other actors said to have been in the mix for the role over the past two years include Bradley Cooper, Mark Wahlberg and Tom Hiddleston.
No other cast members have been announced for ‘The Crow,’ nor does it have a confirmed production start date or theatrical release date thus far.
