Hugh Grant says he is too old and ugly to make any more rom-coms

Hugh Grant has some sad news for Notting Hill and Four Weddings And A Funeral fans … he doesn’t think he’ll make any more romantic comedies.

Grant rose to fame throughout the 1990s and 2000s thanks to his charming performances in Richard Curtis’ beloved entries to the hugely popular genre, as well as his turns in the likes of Nine Months, Mickey Blue Eyes, Two Weeks Notice, Music And Lyrics, and Did You Hear About The Morgans?

But during his recent interview with Deadline, Grant sadly predicted that his days as a leading man in romantic comedies are long over, explaining, “There’s not really a danger of me doing a romantic comedy because I’m just too old and ugly now. It’s not going to happen.”

Grant clearly isn’t that disappointed to no longer be involved in these films, as the 60-year-old went on to admit, “When I stopped being young and handsome and I wasn't being offered romantic leading men, some really interesting parts came up.”

Grant became one of the most recognised actors in the world because of these films, which went on to gross a worldwide sum of nearly £2.21 billion ($3 billion) at the box office.

Over the last decade or so, Grant has focused on a much different roles and projects, appearing in the likes of Cloud Atlas, The Man From UNCLE, Florence Foster Jenkins, The Gentlemen, and the much adored Paddington 2.

Meanwhile he is currently earning rave reviews for his turn in HBO’s The Undoing, which has even sparked discussions that he is the front-runner for Golden Globes, BAFTAs awards, and whatnot.
