'Home Alone' reboot confirmed with 'Jojo Rabbit' star Archie Yates, Ellie Kemper and Rob Delaney
The Home Alone reboot is happening, with news that it's new 'Kevin McCallister' has been cast.
Archie Yates, the breakout star of Taika Waititi's WWII satire Jojo Rabbit, will play the lead role, though the movie won't follow the same story as the family classic.

Also starring will be Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt star Ellie Kemper and Rob Delaney, from hit British sitcom Catastrophe.
Dirty Grandpa director Dan Mazer will be behind the camera, with Saturday Night Live writers Mikey Day and Streeter Seidell penning the script.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie won't be called Home Alone, but will run along similar lines.
Kemper and Delaney will reportedly play a married couple on the edge of bankruptcy who 'go to war with a kid who has stolen a priceless heirloom'.
Back in 1990, Macaulay Culkin starred as Kevin McCallister, accidentally left at home when his parents and family head off on a festive holiday.

He then has to defend his home from the 'Wet Bandits', notorious burglars played by Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern, who are subjected to a series of increasingly painful and humiliating booby traps set by the boy.
It was a box office smash, making $476 million - nearly $1 billion in today’s money - from an $18 million budget, and was followed by three sequels – Home Alone 2: Lost In New York, Home Alone 3 (which featured all new actors) and Home Alone 4: Taking Back The House in 2002.
Last year, Culkin gamely reprised the role for an ad for Google Assistant.
The plans to reboot the movie haven’t been going down hugely well, however.
There are some things that don’t need a reboot and home alone is one of them https://t.co/f0MvI7DSjp

Nothing against these actors and the crew behind this film but nobody asked for a Home Alone reboot!! Instead of attempting to remake already great films, people should be creating and telling new stories! At this rate, there will be no unique films to watch anymore https://t.co/vVkVmfZQ8G
