Watch an extended version of Kevin Hart's hilarious 'Hobbs and Shaw' cameo
If Kevin Hart does formally join the Fast and Furious universe as it speeds forward, his hilarious cameo in Hobbs & Shaw was a promising starting point. And turns out there was even more riffing from the comedy star that was left on the cutting-room floor.
In an extended scene from the film's home entertainment release (watch exclusively above), we see more to Hart's appearance, which comes when his U.S. Air Marshal Dinkley turns up just in time to squash some on-flight fisticuffs between the bickering Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and Shaw (Jason Statham) on a red-eye to Moscow.
In the new footage, the ever-eager Dinkley continues to make his case for why he should help complete a "holy trilogy" with the two bruisers, telling insane tales of battlefield sandwich-sharing and answering the bells on asset providing before another type of duty (or more accurately, doodie) calls him away.
“It was a nice nugget for Kevin to come in and present his comedic brand to the world, and let audiences know that in the future we’re going to be having fun with this universe," director David Leitch told Yahoo Entertainment about Hart's cameo, explaining that his character was a nod to Joe Pesci's go-getter Leo Getz in the Lethal Weapon series. "We take ourselves seriously to a point, but fan enjoyment is first in this franchise.”

Hart is good buddies with his Jumanji costar Johnson (they’ve been in four films together), and recently trolled the wrestler-turned-actor by dressing up like The Rock from a '90s photo in which he infamously donned a black turtleneck and fanny pack.
So will we see Hart — and fellow cameo-er Ryan Reynolds, who memorably appeared as Locke in the summer hit — back in the fold in Fast and Furious (or Hobbs & Shaw) entries to come?
“Wouldn’t that be amazing? Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw’s Dinkley & Locke,” Leitch cracked. “It would be three titles.”
Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw is coming to Blu-ray & DVD 2 December.
