Here’s our first look at the Ocean’s 8 crew
It looks as though ‘Ocean’s 8’ is already eyeing up its mark.
The very first image from ‘Ocean’s 8’ – the upcoming ‘Ocean’s 11’ spin-off starring Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett – has arrived online today. And it looks as though the girls are out and about on the subway.
But don’t get too comfortable around them…
The all-female heist movie is coming. And they’ll fleece you for everything you’ve got.

“In Summer 2018…the tide will turn,” reads the press release. “Here’s your First Look at #Oceans8.”
The cool new image features the entire crew taking to the New York subway. But who are they? It looks as though we’ve finally got some idea…
Sandra Bullock will play Debbie Ocean – the leader of the crew.
And she’s assembled quite the formidable team of con-ladies.
“Her first stop is to assemble the perfect crew: Lou (Cate Blanchett); Nine Ball (Rihanna); Amita (Mindy Kaling); Constance (Awkwafina); Rose (Helena Bonham Carter); Daphne Kluger (Anne Hathaway); and Tammy (Sarah Paulson). Photo by Barry Wetcher.”
What’s it all about?
It looks as though we finally have some details about their all-female heist.
“Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Village Roadshow Pictures’ first look at ‘Ocean’s 8’ from one of New York City’s most iconic locales: the subway,” they state. “In Summer 2018, the tide will turn as Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock) attempts to pull off the heist of the century at New York City’s star-studded annual Met Gala.”
Of course, Sandra Bullock’s character name is the big one – Debbie Ocean.
Although we don’t know her connection to the original ‘Ocean’s 11’ for certain, her surname certainly gives strength to the rumours that she’s playing the sister of the original crew leader, Danny Ocean (played by George Clooney).
Either way, she looks more than capable for the heist of the century.
But considering her brother’s penchant for criminal activity, I have to wonder – is the Met Gala really the only place a female gang could pull of a heist? It seems a bit condescending to me, but I’m willing to hold fire on that thought until we get a better look at what this film is all about.
But for now, I’m a bit dubious.
‘Ocean’s 8’ heads to cinemas on 8 June 2018.
