Harry Potter Fans Banned From Yorkshire Wand Shop

Wand-maker Richard Carter is so sick of ‘Harry Potter’ fans flocking into his tiny Yorkshire wand shop, that he’s now refusing to serve them.

The arrival of ’Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ in the West End and its script in bookshops worldwide, seems to have been the last straw for self-professed mystic.

“J.K Rowling has obviously done her research, but Harry Potter is for children,” Carter told The Telegraph.

“It has done nothing for business. If I had someone come in wanting a wand just because they liked 'Harry Potter’, I would not sell them one, no matter how much money they were offering.”

Carter claims his hand-crafted wands (which cost between £15 and £25) "are spiritual tools” that can bring good luck, ward off dark forces and help users find love.

His shop, called Mystical Moments, is located in the small village of Slaithwaite, outside Huddersfield.

“You wouldn’t believe how many real witches and wizards there are knocking about,” he continued. “You would be amazed. They know they can come here in reveal themselves without people thinking they’re mental.

"I don’t have customers who have been Harry Potterfied.”

It’s not just Harry Potter fans who he won’t sell too, he’ll also shoo off dark witches and wizards who come into his shop. “I can tell what people are like when they walk in by their aura,” he said.
