Grace Jones ‘quits’ Bond 25 ‘moments after arriving on set’, reports claim
Grace Jones has reportedly quit what was intended to be a secret cameo in the forthcoming Bond 25, mere minutes after arriving on set.
According to The Sun, Jones was scheduled to appear in the film and share a scene with Daniel Craig, but upon arrival on set was shocked to discover how few lines she had. A source told the newspaper that Jones was expecting to appear in a far bigger role in the film.
Jones, at the peak of her celebrity, appeared in the 1985 007 film A View to a Kill as May Day, henchwoman to Christopher Walken’s Max Zorin. Initially contracted to kill Bond, played in the film by Roger Moore, she ends up falling for the secret agent before appearing to perish in an explosion.
Rumours about Jones’s appearance in Bond 25 appear to solely stem from an Instagram photograph published in May by the supermodel, actress and musician in which she teased “exciting news coming soon”. The image, depicting a beach in Jamaica, coincided with the Bond 25 production team shooting scenes for the film on the island.
Jones’s representative has confirmed that the star has “no comment” on the story, while The Independent has reached out for a further statement from Eon Productions.
