Golden Globes 2023: Winners in full as The Fabelmans and Banshees of Inisherin hit big
Steven Spielberg's tale of his childhood and Martin McDonagh's jet-black comedy were the big winners at the Golden Gloves
The Golden Globes ceremony returned to screens this year after being boycotted by NBC in 2022 — and it was Steven Spielberg's The Fabelmans and dark comedy The Banshees of Inisherin that won big.
Spielberg's semi-autobiographical drama scooped the prize for Best Motion Picture - Drama, while he picked up Best Director.

But it as Martin McDonagh's jet-black comedy The Banshees of Inisherin which won the most awards, managing three gongs, winning Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy and Best Screenplay, while leading man Colin Farrell won Best Actor – Musical or Comedy.
There were also two wins for the bonkers multiverse sci-fi Everything Everywhere At Once, with stars Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan both winning awards and the latter delivering a memorable, poignant acceptance speech.
The Globes returned to screens this year after its organising body, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), faced heavy criticism over diversity issues.
After changes behind the scenes, NBC broadcast the ceremony again with UK viewers watching via NBC's streaming service Peacock, which is available through Sky and NOW.

Martin McDonagh's dark comedy The Banshees of Inisherin led this year's nominations with eight nods, while Everything Everywhere All At Once had six, and the epic period drama Babylon and Steven Spielberg's The Fabelmans both had five.
Babylon was ultimately shut out in the major categories, only leaving with a single statuette for Justin Hurwitz's original score.
Several British actors were nominated for top awards, including Daniel Craig (Glass Onion), Dame Emma Thompson (Good Luck to You, Leo Grande) and Olivia Colman (Empire of Light).
The other homegrown stars up for gongs were Bill Nighy (Living), Lesley Manville (Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris), Carey Mulligan (She Said), Eddie Redmayne (The Good Nurse) and Ralph Fiennes (The Menu).

Brendan Fraser was hotly tipped to win for his role in psychological drama The Whale, which marks his long-awaited Hollywood comeback — but boycotted the ceremony after alleging he was sexually assaulted by ex-HFPA president Philip Berk in 2003. Berk has denied any wrongdoing.
Taylor Swift took on fellow pop stars Rihanna and Lady Gaga after being nominated in the category for best original song, while comedy legend Eddie Murphy and Glee creator Ryan Murphy both received honorary awards. Here's who won what at the 2023 Globes.
