It's hard to believe it's been a whole decade since we were first introduced to the world of Westeros on television.
Saturday, 17 April marks 10 years to the day since Game Of Thrones – the adaption of George RR Martin's epic fantasy novel series A Song Of Ice And Fire – debuted on HBO.
Back then Ned Stark (Sean Bean) still had his head firmly attached, Joffrey Baratheon (Jack Gleeson) was just a prince – and alive – and Daenerys's (Emilia Clarke) dragons hadn't even hatched yet.
What followed was eight seasons of thrilling highs and emotional lows (RIP Hodor) that culminated in a somewhat divisive finale. It's safe to say the series wouldn't have become the TV juggernaut it is without the magical storytelling in that first series.
To celebrate, HBO is holding a number of special events to mark the occasion with an 'Iron Anniversary'.
