What are critics saying about Fair Play?
Tensions fly as Fair Play makes its Netflix debut and with it comes a batch of reviews telling us if the movie is worth your precious time. If you've been eagerly awaiting this business-set relationship drama then it looks like you're in luck, as many of the write-ups we've seen have been singing its praises.
The Guardian explained how the film succeeds by constructing "a contemporary story about how a gendered disparity in finance and power can wreck a seemingly successful relationship," with their early Sundance review confidently stating that "this one is a winner."
Total Film called the movie "taut, sleek, and remorseless," while The Telegraph praised director Chloe Domont, saying she "beats a sly, perceptive path across this tricky psychological turf." The AV Club's writer echoed the sentiment, saying Domont's "sketching of characters is deep and convincing."

Who is in the cast and what happens?
Fair Play follows Emily (Phoebe Dynevor) and Luke (Alden Ehrenreich), financial analysts who become involved in a forbidden romance that has been banned by their shared employer.
But things take a dramatic turn when Emily is given an unexpected promotion that pushes their relationship to the brink of collapse.
Domont spoke to Netflix's TUDUM about the concept, sharing that it was inspired by her own romantic history and experience with men who felt threatened by a woman with power.
“I wanted to reckon with some unresolved feelings I had in the past, specifically dating men who I felt were threatened by either my ambition or any little bits of accomplishments,” the director explained.
“These dynamics should no longer be normalised.”
Dynevor is being joined in the cast by Alden Ehrenreich, who is best known for portraying a young Han Solo in the Star Wars prequel spin-off about Harrison Ford's iconic character.
Other cast members include Eddie Marsan and Rich Sommer, who play Emily and Luke's co-workers, as well as actors like Sebastian De Souza, Sia Alipour, and Geraldine Somerville.
Is there a trailer for Fair Play?
In August, Netflix released a trailer for Fair Play which teased the forbidden romance between Emily and Luke and how it breaks down in the wake of Emily's success.
Similar to Bridgerton, the film appears to feature an intense romance and dramatic scenes between Dynevor and Ehrenreich's characters that are sure to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
