Eddie Marsan Slams Jeremy Clarkson Over Amazon Advert

Eddie Marsan has taken a swipe at Jeremy Clarkson over his snipes at the BBC in his recently-released advert for the Amazon Fire.

The Brit star of movies like ‘Vera Drake’ and TV shows like 'Ray Donovan’ and 'Jonathan Strange And Mr Norrell’ took to Twitter to vent his anger over the former 'Top Gear’ host’s behaviour.

In the ad, Clarkson jokes about his sacking from the BBC, referring to it instead as becoming 'unbusy’.

In fact, the presenter’s contract was terminated because he physically assaulted his producer following a day’s filming, after he discovered there would be no hot food at his hotel.

Clarkson also whizzes past the BBC’s iPlayer in the advert, referring to other services by name, but iPlayer, pointedly, as simply 'that’.

In response, Marsan tweeted:

Clarkson, who hosted ‘Top Gear’ for almost a decade, has made a handful of ads for Amazon, after signing a lucrative deal to make a new motoring show for its online streaming service Amazon Prime, with another ad introducing Amazon’s plans to launch a drone-based delivery service.

He was fired in March this year, following an investigation into his assault of TV producer Oisin Tymon by the BBC.

He later described his dismissal as 'my own silly fault’.

His new motoring show, rumoured to be called 'Gear Knobs’, will launch on Amazon Prime in the New Year.
