David Lynch says the world will be kinder and more spiritual after coronavirus
David Lynch believes that world is going to be a much kinder and more spiritual place after the coronavirus pandemic has subsided.
The legendary director of Mulholland Drive and Twin Peaks opened up about his routine during quarantine during a recent interview with Vice. It turns out that it wasn’t much different to his life before, as he has spent most of his time in his wood shop drinking a copious amount of coffee.

“My routine is pretty much the same now as it was before. First, I get up and I get a coffee. Me, I like to get going with the coffee right away. That’s just the way it is with me. You know how in a hospital they put an IV in your arm? I pretty much have a drip going all day long. After that, I meditate and then I go to work.”
“I’m in the wood shop right now, building two wall sconces—two little lamps. It involves lightbulbs, electricity, polyester resin plastic, and those kinds of things.”
It was at this point that Lynch made his prediction regarding the reaction to the virus, saying that what’s unfolded is Mother Nature’s response to the world “going down the wrong path.”
“This is going to last long enough to lead to some kind of new way of thinking,” continued Lynch. “I think it’s going to be much more spiritual and much kinder and it’s going to bring us all closer together in a really strong and beautiful way. It’s going to be a different world on the other side and it’s going to be a much more intelligent world.”

Lynch went even further than that, saying that once the “solutions to these problems” have emerged “life’s going to be very good.”
“The movies will come back. Everything will spring back and in a much better way probably. If you meditate and transcend every day, the negativity lifts away. Gold comes in and garbage goes out. Negativity, stress, anxieties, tensions, depression, sorrow, hate, need for revenge, bitter selfish anger; it all starts to recede.”
