Daniel Radcliffe is 'sure' that the Harry Potter movies will be rebooted one day

Daniel Radcliffe reckons we’ve not seen the last of the boy wizard Harry Potter on the big screen.

The former child actor who bought Harry to life has said that he’s ‘sure’ that one the franchise will be rebooted one way or another.

He made the comments in an interview with IGN.

“I’m sure there will be some other version of it; I know I’m not the last Harry Potter I’m gonna see in my lifetime – we’ve already got a few more,” he said.

The ‘few more’ he’s likely referring to are the actors who have played Potter on stage, in the West End show Harry Potter and the Cursed Child – Jamie Parker and Gareth Reeves.

He went on: “It will be interesting to see how long those films stay… it feels like there’s a sacredness around them at the moment, but that’ll go, the shine will wear off at some point.

“It’ll be interesting if they reboot them and just do the films again or do a series; I’m fascinated to watch.”

The Potter franchise was a dazzling money spinner for Warner Bros.

Over eight movies, beginning in 2001 with Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and ending in 2011 with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, the studio made almost $8 billion (£6.2 billion) at the box office.

The final instalment alone brought in $1.3 billion (around £1 billion) alone, meanwhile the Harry Potter studio tour at Warner Bros’ Leavesden Studios made £337 million between opening its doors in 2012 and the end of 2017.
