Comedians defend Tiffany Haddish after bombing New Year's Eve show causing people to walk out
Comedians and celebrities have come out in defence of Tiffany Haddish after a disastrous New Year’s Eve comedy set.
The comedian and actress had people walking out of her show after she admitted to forgetting her material and decided to invite audience members on stage to drink vodka instead.
Haddish said of the incident: “Yes this happened. I wish it was better Miami. I prayed on it and I have a strong feeling this will never happened again (sic).”
Kathy Griffin is among those who came out in support of the star.
This is the price of fame when you're a comic. I was so lucky that there wasn't a Snapchat/IG when I was starting out on my first big tour. No REAL comic never bombs.
You are a hilarious, incredible talent @TiffanyHaddish and I can't wait to see you live! Ignore the haters! https://t.co/2nhpemOsGV

Cameras blow everything out of proportion. Having a bad set is part of being a comic. You’re dope 🙂

Haddish has also earned criticism for her recent promise to wear fur until police stop “killing black people.”
She made the statement via Instagram on Sunday after being gifted a fur vest by a fan.

“I’mma wear fur every day until they stop killing black people,” Haddish said. “When the police stop killing black people, I’ll stop wearing fur. It’s my new protest.”
“So sorry, PETA! Don’t be mad at me,” Haddish continued. “Be mad at the police. When they stop killing black people, I’ll stop wearing fur … Because people are important, and so are the animals.”
Some people were critical of her argument.
Tiffany Haddish saying she will stop wearing fur when cops stop killing blacks?? How does that make ANY sense?? YOU CANT FIGHT OPPRESSION WITH ANOTHER FORM OF OPPRESSION 🗣🗣🗣

Though some people support her protest.
Let me tell you @TiffanyHaddish saying she'll wear fur until the police stops killing black people makes me so proud. I stand with you girl and I'll your body guard against @peta if you need me!! #ProtectTiffanyAtAllCosts

PETA said: “We love you, Tiffany, and as an animal rights organization, we advocate for and believe in kindness towards all, including animals. We hope that you choose to protest in a different way that doesn’t harm any humans or any animals, but is kind to all.”
