Chris Hemsworth: The Avengers will probably never assemble like 'Endgame' again
Do not take the title of Avengers: Endgame lightly says Chris Hemsworth, as he warns it’s unlikely that the core cast will never assemble like this again.
The 35-year-old Thor actor says the fourth Avengers film – which has been described as a “definitive conclusion” to the story of the Marvel Cinematic Universe so far – was his favourite to make because it had a “different energy” compared to the others, teasing that it will be unlike anything fans had seen before.
“[Avengers: Endgame] was the culmination of 22 films, and 10 years worth of filmmaking and cinema,” Hemsworth tells Yahoo Movies UK ahead of the film’s release on 25 April.
“There was just a different energy shooting this, and I think we’re all very aware that we’re probably never going to gather like this again in one place. So I was really soaking it up and enjoying it, but also on a creative level, I think we did something very, very different to what we’d done before, and what people had seen before.”
Hemsworth has portrayed the Marvel hero across three Thor films and four Avengers films, but has hinted that Endgame will mark his final outing as the character. He’s also said he’d be happy to carry on playing the role “for as long as anyone would let me”, but it’s clear that the follow up to last year’s Infinity War will definitely mark the final time some of the Avengers will appear in the MCU in their current form.

The Men In Black star adds that he only felt comfortable as Thor after 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok essentially rebooted the character setting up his arc for the final two Avengers outings.
“Working with Joss [Whedon – director of Avengers Assemble and Age of Ultron] was amazing, but I didn’t quite have the confidence to put my stamp on it. Whereas this experience [on Endgame], especially after Ragnarok, I’d come in with a far more of a handle, and control over what I wanted to do with it.
“I felt freer to take bigger risks and tonally shift the energy of Thor.”
Trailers for Endgame have kept things very close to their chest but, thanks to a few loose lips, we know we can expect scenes in the film that will assemble not just the core Avengers, but nearly everyone in the MCU so far.

In 2016, Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo revealed that one scene would feature “67 characters”, while Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) teased a scene with 32 characters. Winter Soldier star Sebastian Stan spilled even more details on another occasion describing a scene that featured his character alongside Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Michael Douglas (Ant-Man Sr.), and Michelle Pfeiffer (The Wasp Sr.)
Could the scene in question have been filmed when the epic team photo below was taken? That’s our theory, and we’re sticking to it.
