'Birds of Prey' trailer: Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn returns for more comic book mayhem
Warner Bros. has today released the first teaser trailer for Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), its forthcoming super-villain team up movie which features the return of Margot Robbie’s Suicide Squad character Harley Quinn.
Harley has broken up with the Joker, as she explains in the trailer: “I wanted a fresh start. But it turns out, I wasn’t the only dame in Gotham looking for emancipation.”
Jared Leto is not expected to appear in the film as Mr. J, which is a continuation of Quinn’s story beyond the events of David Ayer’s 2016 film.
Like it’s predecessor, Birds of Prey features a rogues gallery of anti-heroes including Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress, Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary, Chris Messina as Victor Zsasz, and Ewan McGregor as the film’s antagonist Black Mask.
Robbie is also acting on producer on the film, inspired by the DC Comic of the same name, and has previously suggested the film is aiming for an R-rating (usually a 15 in the UK).
