Bill Murray confirms he's back as Peter Venkman in 'Ghostbusters: Afterlife'
Bill Murray will be strapping on his proton pack once again.
The enigmatic star will officially be appearing in Ghostbusters: Afterlife, the forthcoming paranormal sequel.
Until now, Murray, 69, has been rumoured to be back on board, but now he's been interviewed on the Calgary set of the film by Vanity Fair, so it's all nice and official.

But he noted that, sadly, they won't be the full team from the previous movies – Harold Ramis, who played Egon Spengler, passed away in 2014.
“Well, we are a man down. That’s the deal,” Murray told the magazine. “And that’s the story that we’re telling, that’s the story they’ve written.”
Murray will be reprising his role alongside Dan Aykroyd's Ray Stantz, Ernie Hudson's Winston Zeddemore, Annie Potts' Janine Melnitz, and Sigourney Weaver's Dana Barrett.
The trailer for the movie landed before Christmas with Paul Rudd as a teacher in a small town that is suddenly beset with paranormal phenomena (it seems Rudd's character Mr. Grooberson was a kid in Manhattan when the Ghostbusters originally took on the Stay Puft marshmallow man).

And in such situations, there's only certain people you can call.
Leftovers star Carrie Coon plays the mum of newcomers to town Finn Wolfhard of Strangers Things fame and Mckenna Grace from Captain Marvel, who may or may not be the grandchildren of Egon.
Set 36 years after the original movie, Jason Reitman (son of original writer and director Ivan Reitman) is penning and directing the movie.
It lands in the UK in July.
