Amazon has one of its biggest punts of the year debuting on the service this coming month as Eddie Murphy comedy sequel Coming 2 America makes its arrival. The hotly anticipated movie is a big swing in the streaming wars, given the company shelled out a mammoth $125m (£88m) to nab the film for its service after COVID-19 nixed plans for a traditional cinema release.

Elsewhere, Robert De Niro comedy War With Grandpa is finally arriving in the UK after its Stateside bow last year and there's an interesting, superhero-themed animated series showing up in the shape of Invincible. Given Amazon's previous success with adult-orientated superhero entertainment via The Boys, this one could be worth a watch.

Coming 2 America (5 March)

In 1988, Eddie Murphy delivered one of his most memorable characters with his role as Prince Akeem in Coming to America. He's now returning to the African nation of Zamunda for this sequel, in which Akeem is on the verge of inheriting the throne from his father (James Earl Jones). He returns to the USA in order to groom the son he never knew he had as the next crown prince.

War With Grandpa (19 March)

Robert De Niro's strange run of age-themed comedy continues with his title role in Tim Hill's tale, which pits the acting legend against his grandson — played by Pete's Dragon star Oakes Fegley — after the youngster is forced to give up his bedroom. Reviews in the USA weren't particularly kind to this one, but there's some serious comedy talent in the cast and it's always intriguing to see De Niro embrace his sillier side.

Made in Italy (26 March)

In the wake of a stellar acting career, James D'Arcy makes his directorial debut in this comedy-drama about a famous artist (Liam Neeson) restoring the Italian villa he owns with his estranged son (Micheál Richardson). It's rare to see Neeson in a role that doesn't require him to punch a series of anonymous goons in the face and this looks like it'll offer him plenty of room to flex his more sensitive side.

Ahead of his likely participation in the Oscars conversation for his performance in Minari, Steven Yeun leads this adult superhero series. Based on Image Comics characters, the story features Yeun as the teenage Mark Grayson whose father (JK Simmons) is the ultra-powerful hero Omni-Man. The series follows Mark as his own powers begin to develop and, under the teaching of his dad, he begins to learn how to use them.

The supporting cast for Invincible is mouth-watering, with the likes of Mark Hamill, Seth Rogen, Sandra Oh, Zazie Beetz, Mahershala Ali and Ezra Miller all among the glittering roster of guest talent.
