Alfie Allen's Emmy nomination finally proves his sister Lily Allen wrong
Alfie Allen is now 'Emmy-nominated actor Alfie Allen', thanks to his recent nod for his role playing Theon Greyjoy in Game of Thrones.
He's up for Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, and is set to duke it out with co-stars Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Peter Dinklage, among others, for the prize.

But because the internet has an infinite memory, many have noted that the majority of the sentiments in Lily Allen's song Alfie, written about her baby brother in 2006, no longer apply.
She penned the song for her first album Alright, Still, and it paints a picture of an slovenly young man, rather more concerned with sleeping all day, playing video games and smoking weed.

Some sample lyrics:
“Oh, Alfie get up it's a brand new day,
I just can't sit back and watch you waste your life away,
You need to get a job because the bills need to get paid,
Get off your lazy arse,
Alfie, please use your brain,
Surely there's some walls out there that you can go and spray,
I'm feeling guilty if I leading you astray,
Now, how the hell do you ever expect that you'll get laid,
When all you do is stay and play on your computer games?”
Well, he did end up getting a job, and he's done pretty well out of it too.
Imagine your famous pop star sister writes a whole ass song literally named after you about what a stoner jobless loser you are, and then you become one of the best characters on the most popular TV show in the world and get an Emmy nomination for it pic.twitter.com/lqmIKP6XVE

Crazy that Emmy-nominated Alfie Allen (Theon Greyjoy, Game of Thrones) is the same Alfie @lilyallen called out for being a complete loser of a little brother back in 2006. https://t.co/bxflFQiafu

Aside from his turn as the tortured Theon, one of the characters of the fantasy series with the most satisfying arc, he's starred in John Wick, The Predator and will be in the new Taika Waititi movie Jojo Rabbit later this year.
He's also set for How To Build A Girl, the adaptation of Caitlin Moran's novel, which also stars Beanie Feldstein, Paddy Considine, Jameela Jamil, Chris O'Dowd and Emma Thompson.
Seems he’s a bit less lazy these days.
