Alfie Allen is happy ‘Game Of Thrones’ is over

Alfie Allen has admitted that while he is going to miss working with the cast of Game Of Thrones he is actually “happy that it’s over.”

Allen who portrayed Theon Greyjoy throughout the series, was originally asked by Thriliist about the divisive fan response to its final episodes, but, according to the publication, he brushed that aside as it “comes with the territory for a cultural phenomenon.”

This then provoked Allen to open about what he’s really going to miss about working on Game Of Thrones. "I'm sad that I don't get to spend as much time with all the people. That is something that I really, really, really am going to miss. But we all keep in contact, we've got a WhatsApp group going.”

“We all kind of went through those muddy fields and gas heated lamps just huddling around them. We'll always share those experience together, but in terms of missing doing Thrones, I think I'm happy that it's over."

Allen also opened up about his process of getting into character as Theon, who endured a lot of pain and torture throughout the history of the show. Allen admitted that he repeatedly listened to Elbow’s song The Loneliness Of The Tower Crane Driver to help him getting into Theon’s mindset.

"I just thought that kind of encapsulated Theon's position, being alone in this world and also being at the behest of this huge machine but not really knowing what to do with it. Also just looking at things from a bird's eye point of view, just down on low and everyone being out of reach but seemingly within reach … It really did help me, that song.”
