Alexander Skarsgard Reveals Insane Diet For Tarzan Movie
You don’t get as buff as Alexander Skarsgard needed to be for the new Tarzan movie just hoofing down those big tubs of whey protein.
No, the lean but still pretty buff ‘True Blood’ star bulked up to the tune of 25lbs, or 11kg, to play the jungle-based hero over the space of three months.

In an interview with Mr Porter, Skarsgard called his intake ‘insane’, shovelling 7,000 calories per day down himself.
That’s three times his usual intake of calories, as well as taking on a brutal fitness regime with a trainer and nutritionist from his native Sweden.
“When you have to see the same person every morning at 4.30am, it’s important you get on well with them,” he said.
His regime involved a diet free of sugar, gluten, wheat, dairy and alcohol, eating six meals per day, along with twice-daily fitness sessions.
‘The Legend of Tarzan’ debuted in the US over the weekend, landing at number two in the top 10 chart with a slightly better than expected box office haul of $38 million so far.
It lands in the UK on July 6.
