Zach Edey rolls ankle, leaves Memphis Grizzlies summer league game vs Pelicans
Memphis Grizzlies center Zach Edey's anticipated return Thursday in Las Vegas came to an early end. The 2024 first-round pick out of Purdue rolled his right ankle in the second quarter of the summer league game against the New Orleans Pelicans.
Edey left the game with 3:16 remaining before halftime, appearing frustrated. He was contesting a shot when he jumped, landed on the foot of a Pelicans player and rolled his ankle.
He will not return for the remainder of the game.

Thursday was Edey's first time back in the lineup since his summer league debut on July 8 in Salt Lake City. He missed the past five games while dealing with left ankle soreness.
Edey had six points, three rebounds and a block while making all three of his shot attempts before exiting the game.
