The Leagues Cup is in only its second year, but there are important elements at stake for the Crew in Sunday's championship against Los Angles FC.
This year's prize money sum hasn't been released, but in the inaugural edition of the tournament last year, Inter Miami was awarded nearly $2 million for reaching and winning the Leagues Cup. An undisclosed amount was distributed among the players.
Leagues Cup winners are also guaranteed a bye into the Champions Cup round of 16 next season, and Columbus and Los Angeles have already secured their spot in the tournament by being one of the top three Leagues Cup finishers.
