For the third time this season, the Crew will be facing Inter Miami, but it will be the first time they'll see Miami star forward Lionel Messi.

After missing a regular-season game against the Crew in June due to international duty with Argentina's national team for Copa America, Messi was unavailable for the Miami-Crew Leagues Cup game while recovering from a right ankle injury.

With their star player back in the lineup, Miami is going into Lower.com Field looking to win the Supporters' Shield trophy, which is awarded to the team with the best record at the end of the regular season. A victory over the Crew will secure the Supporters' Shield for Miami.

For the Crew, a victory over Miami will boost their momentum going in the final stretch of the season and keep them alive in the fight for first place in the Eastern Conference.

"Obviously, my players they know that Miami is coming with Messi, and we know this is a good game for both teams," Crew coach Wilfried Nancy said. "Before the game, yes, we’re going to discuss a bit, but after that, I know them, they’re going to move forward, and they know that we have a task to do."
