On Thursday, Team USA takes on Belgium in women's basketball as part of the 2024 Paris Olympics. This marks the second game of the Olympics for both teams in Group C. They are grouped with Germany and Japan. If the U.S. doesn’t win gold it would be one of the biggest upset of the entire Olympics. The U.S. has won gold in the past seven Summer Olympics and compiled a 73-3 record during that stretch.

Several players on Belgium’s team have WNBA experience, including Emma Meesseman, a WNBA champion in 2019 with the Washington Mystics. Meesseman hasn’t played in the WNBA since 2022, but she has the build to keep up with the skilled U.S. bigs.
