Watch: Seahawks DL Byron Murphy II's highlights vs. Broncos
The Seattle Seahawks took care of business on Sunday against the Denver Broncos to start the season with a 1-0 record. One of the defining features of the game was how suffocating the Seahawks' defense was. Despite multiple turnovers and safeties allowing the Broncos excellent field position, Denver was unable to take advantage.
Why? Because Seattle's defense stopped them in their tracks at every major moment. The Seahawks held the Broncos to 231 yards total, and Denver's running backs were held to 64 yards.
A major reason why Seattle had such success defending the run can be traced back to the No. 16 pick from the draft: defensive tackle Byron Murphy II.
By nature of the position, defensive linemen rarely get the flashy highlight reels shown around on the national shows. But when watching the film, their impact is evident. Such was the case for Murphy's performance against the Broncos on Sunday. Some of his highlights can be seen in the tweets below.
